We like to repeat experiments that proved successful, and Marsala finishing with Clynelish was an experiment that always went beyond our wildest expectations. This new edition has a big Marsala influence, and 18 months transformed an already very good Bourbon cask matured whisky, sweet and rich, into something extraordinary. At the nose it’s farmy and mineral, with apricot notes and a delicate sweetness, and these same traits are also found in the palate… but exponentially amplified. The Marsala provides an intricate interplay of juicy fruity sweetness, nuttiness, and a touch of sourness which prevents the whole from being cloying. It’s a really mouthwatering dessert whisky, in which the waxy and thick Clynelish playfully interacts with the fruitiness of the wine.
