Very delicate at the nose even for a Speysider, it showcases a springtime aromatic profi le: fl owery meadows, a hint of honey, and just a trace of the fruity and winey notes that one would expect from a 20 months fi nish in a Pedro Ximenez butt. It defi nitely gets fuller and more assertive at the palate, not to mention complex: it starts on huge notes of cereals and fl our, then it becomes defi nitely farmy. Some wood shavings, a touch of wet leather, beeswax, but it then again moves back to sweeter territory with tropical fruits and oranges. Ultimately quite dry, but still not explicitly winey. The dry character keeps growing in the aftertaste, which fi nally expresses the winey astringency, and a lively spicy and mineral touch.
