In spite of the full strength this is a particularly gently flavoured, fragrant, flowery whisky, and we chose to bottle it without dilution for a very specific reason: to allow you to experiment with different amounts of water, and have fun in discovering how the aromatic bouquet blossoms and evolves. It is a typically malty, sweet and biscuity – but crisp and clean – young whisky from Glenrothes. Delicate waxy notes, chamomile flowers, candied orange rinds, and only a very restrained kiss of winey fruitiness from the 12 months in a first fill sherry cask. Quite peppery at full strength, with the gradual addition of water, it becomes sweeter and sweeter, particularly delicate and velvety, while always still retaining a spicy and lively finish.
