A deeply sherried and characterful whisky, shaped by a very long finish of 52 months in a first fill Oloroso butt. The result is not an austere or excessively dry sherry style, but a winey, generous and rounded profile, where the Oloroso influence is immediately clear. At the nose it shows salted caramel, dates and hazelnuts, with a fresh lift of mint and freshly cut wood adding brightness to the richer sherry notes. The palate is powerful, sweet and mouthcoating, with beautifully integrated alcohol and a creamy depth of tiramisu and crème brûlée. Juicy bitter orange adds freshness, while intense oak spice and fine tannins give structure without any harshness. The finish is long and deep, gradually turning darker, with dark chocolate, pleasant woodiness and a warm, winey spiciness that lingers.
