A new release in our very appreciated series of powerful Tobermories at cask strength, to once again show how intense and unusual this overlooked distillery can be. Don’t expect a sherry monster, because the wood influence is deliberately kept restrained to avoid clashing with the quirky flavours of the malt. This bottling is a perfect example of a particularly waxy Tobermory, and we might also say that it’s noticeably smokier (more on notes of charcoal than peat) than expected, almost like a Ledaig.
