A very fresh and sunny version of this lovely Speyside single malt, enhanced for 21 months in first fill Oloroso casks. The sherry does not overpower the whisky: at the nose there is little winey influence, and it remains on a light, fruity and citrusy note. Plenty of pears, apples, peaches and apricots, with a touch of lemon peel and bergamot. Very playful and crisp. At the palate it alternates chestnut honey sweetness with a tangy dryness: very mineral, spicy but breezy. Here you can feel the sherry a bit more, with a pleasantly nutty character, but it never becomes ponderous. There always is a malty fragrance that shows the spirit is in full control here. The winey and nutty dry side only starts to grow in the finale, getting spicier, with a slightly herbal note, lemon and orange peel.
