A special single cask release, bottled at traditional British high strength, of our innovative experiment with Virgin Oak maturation applied to a malty, flowery and tight Speyside whisky. The initial impact, sampled neat, is quite dry and compact: powerful, concentrated, with all the sweet malty and raisiny aromas packing a punch. Add water to your taste and let it breathe for several minutes, and you will find the perfect balance between intensity and complexity, between the chewiness of the tannins from the new wood and the fruity freshness. It’s very nutty, with notes of bananas and dried/candied fruits, with a very buttery mouthfeel… but also a delayed blast of pepper and mustard that finely complements the initial creamy sweetness.
