Deeply influenced by the sherry, this whisky has great complexity. Part of its recipe includes a small amount of lightly peated whisky… just enough to give it interesting nuances and layers of aromas. The slight hint of smokiness is already evident at the nose, just as a whisper in the background that plays hide and seek behind the winey and fruity Oloroso notes. At the palate it’s juicy and rich bodied, with great balance between chewy fruitiness and the overall dry character. And again, the hint of peat adds layers of taste: slightly earthy, and especially leathery. It all remains soft, easy and very refined, with subtle complexity as the key inspiration rather than loud flavours.
