A dry, fresh and stimulating single malt from a renowned distillery in Speyside, with a winey character enhanced by a finish of 14 months in first fill Oloroso. Its style can be described as initially very sharp, with the typical nutty character of dry sherry. At the nose it’s citrusy, yeasty, and with the expected notes of red fruits of this kind of maturation. The same dry winey impression is evident at the first approach on the palate, but just take your time to let it roll for a while on your tongue: the initial astringency is soon backed by a wave of creamy maltiness, by a sweet and rich fruitiness of red and yellow fruits (strawberries, peaches, cherries). A hint of floweriness and a slightly toasted touch then prepare the way to the final burst of spicy pepper.
