Silver Medal at Malt Maniacs Awards 2014

Long awaited by those lucky enough to have tasted the previous releases, finally the older sherry-matured version of our award winning House Malt comes back to Europe in a new very limited bottling! Once again, it’s an unpeated whisky from a secret distillery on Islay… but with a luscious Oloroso style which reminds of old-fashioned Macallans. Intense, rich with notes of liquorice and herbs, dates, figs and dried plums. The sherry character is intense and big, but not invasive or too winey or tannic: while rich and full bodied, the balance is perfect, neither sweet nor dry… like it used to be in legendary bottles from almost forgotten times. A chewy and redolently indulgent after dinner whisky that epitomises everything we love in Scotch single malts.
