A symphony of oak, a classic ‘old sherry malt’ which immediately evokes atmospheres of old leather-bound books and wooden furniture in an ancient library… Long maturation in Oloroso casks has slowly endowed the whisky of a rich golden colour and a dry, tannic, pleasantly astringent taste of resin, anise, black coffee and dark cocoa. But such old malts need time, breathing in the glass and a drop of water to really wake up and show all their real beauty… Yes, because under the austere (though never sharp or unpleasant) oakiness, still lies a lively, fruity malt, with its fresh and stimulating aromas of grapefruit, passion fruit and bergamot. A very limited release, for connoisseurs and collectors, of a legendary vintage from this Speyside distillery.
