A new release of this classic and affordable Islay single malt, even more refined than usual. The influence of the ex-bourbon casks is evident in spite of the relatively young age, with refreshing and sweet notes of banana, vanilla and even bubblegum. Its fruitiness and medium body make it easy on the nose and on the palate, but gradually the intense peaty smokiness so typical of an Islay malt starts to build up and becomes dominant. A rich, chewy, liquorice-like smokiness, enriched by notes of toasted peanuts. As usual the result is tasty, very aromatic, peaty and sense-enveloping… but also velvety, caressing and absolutely accessible. Once again, a bottling which will charm casual drinkers and demanding experts alike.
