Bronze Medal at Tokyo Whisky & Spirits 2019
Slightly drier than our previous release of the House Malt, and actually a tad smokier too: the peat in this edition is very maritime, tarry, medicinal and even slightly salty. But behind this intense smokiness, once again the style is always that of our beloved House Malt: rich in flavour and taste, but gentle and well-rounded on the tongue, with a mild body, a creamy mouthfeel, a hint of peanuts, vanilla, toffee and banana. It’s the perfect introduction to the wonderful flavours of Islay: succulent and robust, but never aggressive. As we often say, this is the kind of whisky that we like to always keep in our house to offer to our friends, and that perfectly showcases more than a thousand words all that we like in malts from this island.
