ARCHIVE
A delicate but still quite full-bodied unpeated Islay whisky, with a vibrant twist, the result of the long slow maturation of a very clean and malty distillate, only slightly enhanced a final finish for four years in second fill Oloroso casks. The influence of the dry sherry is restrained but noticeable: the expected silky, flowery and waxy character of the distillery is always there, with the usual firm maltiness and honeyed notes. But soon, citrusy notes start to grow: orange peel, candied lemon, bergamot. Creamy maltiness is soon replaced by a drier, livelier attitude, with a playful spiciness and even delicately leathery, farmy and organic notes, evolving into a peppery finale with hints of liquorice root.
