A fresh, lively Bunnahabhain: a good expression of a non-peated Islay malt, enriched by a pleasant sherry influence which doesn’t overwhelm the spirit. Its nose is delicate and only moderately winey, slightly organic and earthy, but particularly stimulating in its fresh aromas of rosewater, oranges, and slightly sour red apples. Such freshness is also found on the palate, where it’s lively, pleasantly dry and fruity. Its appetizing crispness lingers in the aftertaste, which is long, astringent and very citrusy. In recent years Bunnahabhain never fails to surprise us with its many faces, as every new bottling seems to have something different from the previous ones to say.
