This is one of those extravagant cases in which nature plays some very interesting tricks: in twenty years this whisky matured so quickly and intensely that, when we sampled the cask, we found it had reached an ABV comparable to that of much older ones. But what the content of this cask lost in alcohol, it definitely gained in taste intensity and richness due to the fantastic interaction with some incredibly active oak: it’s a tropical fruits galore, with hints of marzipan, black cherries, almond cookies, liquorice root, and only a very slight hint of tannins. A rich, creamy and luscious whisky, truly fascinating to the palate and especially suited to anyone with a sweet tooth!
