We have several bottlings that we are proud of, and most of them have received excellent ratings on specialized websites and on the scoring aggregator Whiskybase (where almost every whisky is rated by multiple connoisseurs and hobbyists, and the resulting score is the average of all ratings).
That is to say that we are quite used to receiving good to great ratings for our malts, and the reason is simple: we only bottle what WE think deserves a score at least equal (and possibly higher) than our severe personal standard.
But, of course, when a particular bottling gets consistently solid ratings from multiple sources… that makes us particularly proud!
In this case, we are speaking of a bottle the we love deeply, because it offers a very sherried style of the single malt from a distillery which usually isn’t so deeply sherried and robust: Glen Moray. As such, it’s quite unique and rare. The bottling we are speaking of is:
W&M566 Glen Moray 18yo Sherry Finish Oloroso 2006-24 (54,8%)
First, it received 89 points by Serge Valentin on Whiskyfun, and we all know how competent his ratings are: Whiskyfun
Then, just recently, it received 90 points from Cigarslover magazine too:
Have you already secured a bottle of this lovely Speyside single malt? And the good news is that it’s an attractively priced bottling, too!
